Friday Favourites #3 (The Christmas Edition!)

Happy Friday!
This week I have been so busy with my Uni work that I have actually struggled to put together a list of Friday Favourites - what is my life coming to!? As I only have two weeks left until I finish for Christmas break, I have decided to stick to a christmassy theme.

So first up is the obvious - John Lewis Christmas Advert. Not only do I absolutely LOVE Lily Allens cover of Keanes "Somewhere Only We Know" but I love the story behind it. It's the cutest thing and gets me so excited for Christmas everytime it comes on TV.

Next up is another obvious Christmas favourite - ADVENT CALENDARS! It is almost time to start opening those doors to reveal the yummy chocolatey treats! Yes I am 23, but I think it is always acceptable to have an advent calendar! It's not fair for all the little ones to have all the fun. This cute Minnie Mouse one arrived in the post yesterday from my Boyfriend - such a lovely surprise!

And here is a photo of some Christmas Cats - because I love Cats!

What would be on your list of Christmas Friday Favourites?

All I Want for Christmas....

Dear Santa,

This year has been my favourite year so far and I feel I have been extremely good and have been working really hard. I would really appreciate if you could consider the following items as Christmas Presents for me!

First up is this lush coat from Topshop. Everyone NEEDS a lovely warm winter coat, so really this is an absolute essential.

I love a good book, but haven't been able to find anything that I have really gotten into since I read P.S I Love You (that was a long time ago!). So this year, I would really love an Amazon Voucher so I can update my "book" collection on my Kindle!

And finally, I desperately need to update my make up collection! I LOVE Clarins...and am looking to branch out and start using more Benefit products too! Any products or even vouchers would be appreciated!

I think that's all for this year. But perhaps you could send a little snow our way too! Would be lovely to have a white Christmas!

Let me know what is on your Christmas list this year! And can anyone recommend some good books too!?

Friday Favourites #2

First on my list of favourites for this week is...
CHRISTMAS JUMPERS!
Not entirely sure if it is too early to be getting excited about this, but I've been getting into the Christmas spirit all week with my present wrapping and decoration purchases so I felt it was definitely okay to get a Christmas jumper too!

You can pick up both of these from Primark for just £12!

Next up is the new series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Everyone always complains about reality TV, but lets be honest - we all secretly love it. The Bushtucker Trials are great and I know most of the Celebrities on it this year so I am definitely going to be hooked! Click here to see Mondays Bushtucker Trial. Matthew & Joey both did incredibly well!

Another of my favourites is a recent purchase of mine - a black cat hat! I will be wearing it all winter! It's so cute and I fell in love as soon as I saw it. I got it a few weeks ago from Next and it is still available online. For only £10 I think it would be foolish not to add this to your winter collection!

The last thing I have put on my list of Friday Favourites is Carnivals! Apparently it's only us Southern Folk that do Carnivals and I love them. I always make sure I go to one of the bigger ones once a year (this year was Glastonbury Carnival) and tend to drag my family along with me too! It was my little Niece's first Carnival experience too and she absolutely loved it!

Let me know if you have found any Christmas Jumpers else where...or if reality TV is your guilty pleasure too!

Friday Favourites #1

To make sure I stick to blogging regularly, I have decided to introduce my Friday Favourites. I will blog once a week (alongside other random posts) to update you on all my favourite things! So here we go...

This week I have discoved my love for The 1975. The Manchester (UK) based rock/indie band have been helping me through the stresses of my final year and I literally cannot get enough of them! My favourite song is "Girls".

Next on the list is Cats Wearing Tights. Yes this is a real thing and yes it does provide me with hours of entertainment! I stumbled across the Facebook page last week and find it is a great way to avoid doing anything productive!

Last on my list of Friday Favourites this week is my new Sleek Lipstick! I am new to Sleek products and after deciding I definitely needed some new make up, I took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer at Superdrug. I ordered the Contour Kit (in Light), the Au Naturel iDivine Palette & the Barely There Lipstick. I'll be honest, I ordered the lipstick to make up the offer but I am so pleased I did. It gives a light pinky colour to my lips & goes on so easily. Obviously you do need to reapply this one - however for the price (£4.99) I never expected this one to stay put. I will definitely be ordering more lipsticks from Sleek in future!

What would you include on your Friday Favourites list?

What Has ZoFlo Been Upto This Year?

I thought it would be a good idea to show you a few things I got up to throughout 2013, so you can get to know a little more about me!

So one of my New Years Resolutions at the beginning of 2013 was to be a little more spontaneous and adventurous! Sometimes I can be quite shy and reserved, but this year I wanted to spend more time doing things with the people I love most (aww / vom).

So my New Year kick started when I recieved an email saying I had been allocated two free tickets for Dancing on Ice (I applied for them on SRO Audiences). After reminding myself of my New Years Resolution, I thought YOLO (yes - I just used yolo!). I dragged my beautiful friend Hannah along with me and after a long wait (Sorry Han) we actually made it into the venue and got seats! We weren't sat together but we still got to see Dancing on Ice live. And to top it all off, the Philip Schofield replied to one of my tweets...IN PERSON! I actually met the real life Silver Fox. I wanted to cry (as you can tell, I'm a big fan!).

At the end of 2012, my little sister asked if I would run the Bath Half Marathon with her. Already aware that I wanted to be more spontaneous as well as get fit, I decided to sign up. At the beginning of 2013, I decided to take it a little more seriously and up my training sessions. I was in the gym most evenings and even found myself getting up at 5:30am to go running before work! It was hard work but with a finish time of 2 Hours 26 Minutes I was pretty pleased with myself. I loved the challange as well as the feel good factor of raising money for charity!

Iron Man 3
As I was on my placement year at The Walt Disney Company, I wanted to make the most of my opportunities as an Intern. So when asked if I wanted to attend the Iron Man 3 Premiere I obviously said yes! From a sensible, work perspective, it was amazing to see the work that goes into such high profile events and the stress everyone is under. From a excited, 23 year old perspective, it was amazing to be walking on the red carpet with the likes of Robert Downy Junior, Dermot O'Leary & Alex Zane (Wow, wow, wow).

Next up was Glastonbury Festival! As most of my friends & family already know, I am obsessed with Glastonbury Festival! This was my second year attending the festival, however my first experience wasn't too good. You definitely need to make sure you go with all the right people to these kinds of events! This time I wanted to explore ALL of Glastonbury - not just sit in my tent all day. I can honestly say I had the most amazing time. I went with my best friend and younger sister (and their boyfriends) and we really made the most of it. Chilling in the Circus & Theatre Fields & the Field of Avalon during the day, but still making sure we didn't miss all our favourite bands! At night we would sit around our campsite next to our giant candles - it was so chilled! I have managed to secure my ticket for next year and am so excited!

Glasto 2013: My Sister, My Best Friend & Me!
Glasto 2013: Arctic Monkeys on the Pyramid Stage.
So I should tell you that just before Glastonbury Festival, I started talking to Nick (now my boyfriend of 4 months). After a successful first date, he invited me on a second date to The Olympic Park Live concert where Vampire Weekend, Ben Howard & Mumford and Sons were playing (amazing second date!). I was a little apprehensive at first because 1) I had seen all these bands the week before at Glastonbury, 2) this would mean staying the night in a hotel with him and 3) was this too much to accept too soon? Luckily I decided to just go for it - I liked this guy & he must of liked me to ask me on a second date, right? It was such an amazing time and the atmosphere was incredible! I loved every minute of it and I am so glad I agreed to go!

July 2013: Me & Nick

My final exciting encounter for 2013 (so far anyway) was a Secret Gig at my University! This was advertised as a guest speaker that would be giving an inspirational talk to students at our SU Bar. There were limited spaces available and as me and my friend Elena are in our final year, we decided to be keen and see if this guest speaker could inspire us! The SU Bar soon filled up and with rumours flying around that it was going to be Tinie Tempah, we were getting excited. After a short wait and an introductory speech from our Student Union, it was of course a Secret Gig by Tinie Tempah! I think the fact that this was free made it a million times more exciting! He did a very energetic half an hour set, including a mixture of all his songs. It was very surreal going to a gig at 3pm but it was amazing. See, sometimes being keen and attended extra talks can pay off!

Those were just a handful of the exciting things I have done this year! I think I did really well at sticking to my New Years Resolution and have so many great memories to show for it! If you're a little like me and shy away from doing crazy things - you should honestly just go for it! I've had such an amazing year with all my friends & family and will definitely make sure I say yes to more things in the future!

Let me know if you have said yes to anything out of the ordinary!

Remember, Remember, The 5th of November!

As I am currently a student living 125 miles away from home, my wonderful Boyfriend drove up last week to spend a long weekend with me. Of course it was coming up to Guy Fawkes so we HAD to go to some sort of Firework Display! St Albans was the final decision and it definitely did not disappoint!

Looking over the lake at the Verulamium Park, the 25 minute display lit the whole sky. The atmosphere was brilliant and the crowds the display drew in was impressive - definitely the largest display I had ever attended!

I absolutely love the Autumn / Winter Seasons so this was the BEST way to spend my weekend - wrapped up in my winter clobber in the freezing cold (whilst eating a Toffee Apple!).
